    • Take the B, D, or 4 train to Bedford Park Blvd. Station. From the station exit: Take the Bx26 bus east to the Garden's Mosholu Entrance.
    • OR walk eight blocks down the hill on Bedford Park Blvd (approximately 20 minutes). Turn left onto Southern Blvd. and walk one block to Mosholu Entrance.
    • Take the 2 train to Allerton Ave. station. From the station exit: Walk three blocks west on Allerton Ave. Turn left on Bronx Park East and walk two blocks to Waring Ave. At the park entrance, walk up the small hill leading directly to the Garden's East Gate (daytime access only).
    • NOTICE: East Gate is open during the Garden's normal daytime hours (10 a.m.–6 p.m., Tuesdays through Sundays and Monday federal holidays; 10 a.m.–5 p.m., mid-January–mid-February). Use the Mosholu Entrance for evening event access.

Directions by Car

Public transportation is the easiest and quickest way to get to the Garden. During peak visitation times, parking in and around the Garden may be at capacity.

    • West Side Hwy North to Henry Hudson Pkwy North to Mosholu Pkwy (Exit 24). Continue to the end. Turn right onto Southern Blvd. At the third traffic light, turn left into the Garden.
    • FDR Drive North to Robert F. Kennedy Bridge (formerly the Triboro Bridge) to Bruckner Expwy East (I-278) to Bronx River Pkwy North to Fordham Rd (Exit 7W). Merge onto Fordham Rd and stay in right lane. Turn right onto Southern Blvd, and continue to the Garden entrance on the right.
    • Saw Mill River Pkwy South to Cross County Pkwy East (OR Hutchinson River Pkwy South to Cross County Pkwy West) to Bronx River Pkwy (Exit 6) South to Fordham Rd (Exit 7W). Merge onto Fordham Rd and stay in right lane. Turn right onto Southern Blvd, and continue to the Garden entrance on the right.
    • New England Thruway South (I-95) to Pelham Parkway West (Exit 8C). Pelham Pkwy turns into Fordham Rd after 2 miles. Turn right onto Southern Blvd, and continue to the Garden entrance on the right.
    • Or:
      Merritt Pkwy South to Hutchinson River Pkwy South to Cross County Pkwy West to Bronx River Pkwy (Exit 6) South to Fordham Road (Exit 7W) Merge onto Fordham Rd and stay in right lane. Turn right onto Southern Blvd, and continue to the Garden entrance on the right.
    • Throgs Neck Bridge to New England Thruway (I-95) North to Pelham Pkwy West (Exit 8C). Pelham Pkwy turns into Fordham Rd after 2 miles. Turn right onto Southern Blvd, and continue to the Garden entrance on the right.
    • NYS Thruway South (I-87) to Saw Mill River Pkwy South (Exit 7A, just south of I-287) to Mosholu Pkwy (Exit 24). Continue to the end. Turn right onto Southern Blvd. At the third traffic light, turn left into the Garden.
    • George Washington Bridge to Henry Hudson Pkwy North to Mosholu Pkwy (Exit 24). Continue to the end. Turn right onto Southern Blvd. At the third traffic light, turn left into the Garden.
    • Bronx-Whitestone Bridge to Hutchinson River Pkwy North to Bruckner Expwy West (I-278) to Bronx River Pkwy North to Fordham Rd (Exit 7W). Merge onto Fordham Rd and stay in right lane. Turn right onto Southern Blvd, and continue to the Garden entrance on the right.
    • Directions from Manhattan or Long Island may be preferable, depending on your starting point.

Entry Points

    • Located at 2900 Southern Boulevard and serves as the main entrance for Garden visitors. This address continues to serve as the Garden's only mailing address.
    • Open daily during regular Garden hours; typically 7 a.m. until 30 minutes past public event end time.
    • Garden visitors and staff arriving via personal vehicle or MTA bus lines Bx19, Bx12, Bx22, Bx9, and Bx17 are directed to this entrance.
    • Taxi, car service, and rideshare drop-off and pick-up for visitors and staff is located just outside the entrance. Paratransit services such as Access-A-Ride and personal vehicles with a handicap permit have access to interior drop-off and pick-up.
    • Located at 2950 Southern Boulevard between Mosholu Parkway and Bedford Park Boulevard.
    • Open daily during regular Garden hours and 24/7 for authorized constituents listed below.
    • Garden visitors and staff arriving via Metro-North Railroad to Botanical Garden station, MTA subway lines B, D, and 4 to Bedford Park Boulevard stations, and MTA bus lines Bx26, Bx41, and Bx34 are directed to this entrance
    • Personal vehicle access is limited to staff, private event attendees (ex: wedding guests), conferences and lecture attendees, adult education students, and pre-approved delivery and service vehicles. To ensure proper access, continue to notify Security in advance of all special events and special access accommodations.
    • Staff being picked-up or dropped-off by taxi or private vehicle at this entrance should do so at the Metro-North roundabout. Inform Human Resources if a special accommodation is required, regardless of your arrival or departure time.
    • Garden visitors arriving via personal vehicle do not have access to this entrance; direct to the Main Entrance or NYBG garage.
    • Located at the corner of Southern Boulevard and Bedford Park Boulevard.
    • Open most weekends and peak visitation days during regular Garden hours.
    • Pedestrian-only gate for visitors and staff arriving via Metro-North Railroad to Botanical Garden station, MTA subway lines B, D, and 4 to Bedford Park Boulevard stations, MTA bus lines Bx26, Bx41, and Bx34, and the NYBG garage on Bedford Park Boulevard.
    • Located at on Southern Boulevard, just north of East Fordham Road, across from Fordham University.
    • Open Tuesday through Friday from 9:45 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for schools and organizations registered for Children's Education programs and/or events.
    • All school buses stop at this location and depending on program, drop off and pick up groups at this location.
    • School groups who walk to the Garden can enter here and check in.
    • Located at the corner of Waring Avenue and Bronx Park East.
    • Open during regular Garden hours for daytime access only; typically 10 a.m. until 30 minutes past daytime hours of operation.
    • Use the Main Entrance or Mosholu Entrance for early morning or evening event access.
    • Pedestrian-only daytime gate for visitors and staff arriving via MTA subway line 2 to Allerton Avenue station.
    • Arrived at East Gate outside its normal operating hours? You may enter the Garden via the Mosholu Entrance, which is a short bus ride away. Walk north on Bronx Park East for 2 blocks until you reach Allerton Ave. On the corner of Allerton Ave and Barker Ave, take the Bx26 bus west to the Garden's Mosholu Entrance—just 1 stop away.

Biking to the Garden

NYBG offers free bicycle racks at all entry gates. We encourage biking as an alternate and more sustainable mode of transportation.

Biking is not permitted anywhere on Garden grounds.
